Review content:
Extremely high prices with an emphasis on selling their parts. I was quoted $1450 by Applewood to repair my air conditioner and thankfully declined to have them fix it. Another company repaired it for $210 and offered great service with integrity. I called Applewood based on the high number of positive reviews here. When the tech arrived he offered a lightning fast diagnosis of the problem and quoted $1450 for the labor/parts. As he began the repair, I called the manufacturer of my air conditioner and learned that the parts were still under the manufacturers warranty. I explained this to the Applewood tech and he said he could only use the parts on his truck and would not be able to assist with warranty parts. I requested he stop working (he had just started) and paid him the $69 service call fee and it was the best decision I have made in a while. I had to endure a couple more days of heat until another company could come out but they accurately diagnosed the problem and fixed it in about 25 minutes for $210. It did NOT need all the parts Applewood was trying to sell and it became very clear to me that Applewood was taking advantage of my situation (no air cond. on a super hot day) to sell me things I did not need. They appear professional, organized, are prompt and I'm sure they would have had my system working but they quoted me 7X the price it should have been! I would NOT RECOMMEND Applewood and urge anyone who is considering them to beware of being sold equipment they don't need. I have shared this story with several people and heard of many similar situations of Applewood overcharging customers. Buyers beware!
