I had Applewood come out a few times for some plumbing issues and they were always prompt and professional. I decided to spend the $198. for the contract in Dec. I got a call in March that I get a ""free"" furnace cleaning with my contract. Instead of cleaning my furnace they almost cleaned out my bank. I was told I needed a new furnace - which I will agree I do because of the age. But I was also told my furnace was leaking carbon monoxide and that it needed to be replaced immediately. This was a Tuesday and he could have it for me by Friday. Then the price: $5200 not including labor. I live in a 2 bedroom condo. And they even have financing available. Luckily I shopped around and will have the job done for thousands less by a good company. I'm mad about the price, but even madder that they used scare tactics to steal my money.
