At the end of last summer, our AC stopped working. The Tech from Konieczka's said he could do a "re-build" or replace the unit. For economic reasons, we opted for the "re-build." Since then, we learned that was a poor option because of the age of our unit. However, we were told the "re-build" would work. The cost was $2,200.00. Over this past Memorial Day weekend, it stopped working again. We called the emergency line for Konieczka. The Tech told us he couldn't come over for a few days. Because the weather was so warm, we decided to try a different local company. Their Tech came within an hour. His opinion, which he put in writing, was the compressor was installed improperly which caused it to fail. Yesterday, I called Mr. Konieczka to voice my concerns. I was upset that $2200.00 gave us AC for only a few months. I also informed him of the possibility that the part was installed improperly. I told him of another issue which happened last month. This issue was that our on/off "Quick Release" switch mounted on the outside of our house "melted." The electrician said we were lucky we didn't have a fire. This electrician said the cause may be due to an issue with the AC unit itself and we should get it checked out. Konieczka's Tech said, "Well, it's nothing I did and anyway, the warranty is run out." I asked Mr. Koniecza to come out and look things over for himself. Yesterday, he did that and told my husband that he would "make things right." Today, his Tech called to inform me that he would be charging labor for the job. I told the Tech that the owner should call me because his company's reputation was on the line. Mr. Konieczka called back in 5 minutes, yelling in a vile voice, that he didn’t need our business. He said, “Listen, Sweetie, who took care of you when you didn’t have the money to buy a new unit? That unit is old. That’s what you get! Huh? Who took care of you and let you make payments? If a car’s motor quits, you gonna get a new car free? Don't call here again! Woman, I hope you go to hell."
