Review content:
We were having trouble with our (7-year old) AC/heat pump not keeping our house at 80 degrees. The technician at first thought it was likely the refrigerant. We agreed to try that fix. When he added refrigerant, that did not fix the problem so he determined that the TXV needed to be replaced. He checked on the warranty and explained why the AC was not keeping up. We got the recommended service and it took less time than he thought it would. The only concern we had was we are not sure how we could prevent the part from breaking down again. He did not seem to have an answer for that other than the age of the AC/ heat pump (Lifetime 10-13 years).
