A few months ago I helped my father purchase a used vehicle at Weld Co. Garage. My dad really liked the vehicle upon test-driving it, except that it wasn't running as smoothly as it should. The salesman said it just likely needed a tune-up and they could do that before my dad took possession. My father paid several hundred $$$ extra for a major tune-up, took possession of the car, and the same problem still existed, even though the salesman said it was fine when we went to pick it up! (they could not possibly have driven it and honestly said that!) We suggested the catalytic converter needed replacement. Service dept. denied that could be the problem. My Dad spent another whole day sitting in the service dept. while they did more troubleshooting, checking out various things with no luck. (We live 60 miles away, so this was a problem!) After about 6 hours, my dad insisted they check out the catalytic converter. GUESS WHAT! That WAS the problem--but they had not listened. (My son's similar car had had the same problem a few months before, so we suspected it was the issue.) Finally, they got the car fixed for another several hundred $$$--only after my dad did lots of complaining and negotiating. It was difficult to deal with this dealership! By the way, my son's catalytic converter on his car was replaced for a fraction of the cost at Mike's Moonlight Auto Repair in Greeley...a MUCH better car repair/service location!!!
