On two different occasions, Arc was hiring online. The first time, I sent my resume & the owner called to set up an interview. I showed up & he wasn't even there. An employee said he went to the store & would be back soon. I waited 30 minutes but left when he still didn't arrive. After a few years working elsewhere, I went job hunting online again & found Arc hiring again, so I decided to give it another shot. Again, I sent in my resume & the owner called asking me to come by at 7am before they opened the next day. I wrote this time down immediately while we were still on the phone, so I definitely had the right time. I showed up at 7:00 the next day, but nobody was there. The doors were locked & no cars in the lot. I waited until 7:15, then called his cell, thinking maybe he got stuck in traffic. Instead, he told me that he thought the interview was at 8:00 & said if I wanted to wait, he'd be there to open up in an hour. I don't know HOW he got the time wrong since he distinctly wanted me to come in before opening. It bothered me that he was completely unapologetic, like my time was totally unimportant. I nicely told him that I couldn't because I had another interview at 8:00 (which was true), hoping that he would show up a little earlier, but he just said "well, if you want to come back another day, we can do it later in the week." I told him I'd have to get back to him, but thankfully was hired right away at the next spa. I will not only never apply there again, but also will never bring my business there after that. It was very rude that he didn't show up TWICE & that he was so flippant when I called to let him know I was there waiting alone. I may be interviewing, but I'm also a person & a potential client. I expect to wait a little bit, but not for the owner to leave the spa to run errands when he had an appointment with me & later leave me waiting in the parking lot alone for an hour. Whether I'm an interviewee or a client, THE OWNER missing two appointments without apology is just unacceptable.
