Review content:
I just spent a week at Dublin Springs for my Bi Polar Disorder. The facility is beautiful & the rooms look like a room at Embassy Suites; huge bathrooms made with ceramic tile. You will probably have a roommate but that's the way it is at any mental health facility/hospital. The first day I met with Dr. Pervez he put me on a medication I didn't want to take but he didn't want to hear my concerns & prescribed it anyway. Dr. Pervez ""ruined"" my experience at D.S. The nurses & support staff on the floor are excellent. The problem is they are very understaffed. Some of the nurses told me that being understaffed made it almost impossible for them to really do their jobs. For example at all other psychiatric facilities the nurses were able to get to know their patients & help them ""heal."" I think nurses play the biggest role in recovery. They are only passing out medications & doing paperwork. Please get more nurses. That's more important than having ""fancy"" bathrooms! My therapist was great. The food here is pretty good. One thing that ""bothered"" me along with Dr. Pervez is that several patients with very serious problems were not seen by the Psychiatrist or medical doctor & had no medications for days. Some of these people were suicidal & were at D.S. for extreme anxiety. They told the staff several times but nothing happened until the 3rd\r
day. This is dangerous & unethical in my opinion. Also, I went to D.S. with a specific problem. In spite of Dr. Pervez I was ""better"" after the 3rd day. In order to keep me there someone changed the reason I came in to something else so they could justify my staying longer. If my therapist hadn't intervened & practically beg Dr. Pervez to let me go I probably would have been there for 10 days, Dr. Pervez told my therapist he was concerned about my mood swings which is not why I was there & is a chronic issue with Bi Polar & something that is treated by my own Psychiatrist & Therapist. I am still puzzled by Dr. Perez's action. It's great that Columbus has a new mental health facility for in patient treatment. I'd go back to D.S. as long as I was treated by someone other than Dr. Pervez.
