Jesse and Willie from Aiello Home Services recently performed a whole-house energy audit on our home, part of the CL&P Energy Wise campaign. For a modest $99, These two professionals spent about 6 hours inspecting our home an correcting energy wasting features. Jesse sat with me, literally for a couple of hours, to review building science (a hobby of mine) and discuss the pros and cons of the various energy saving options appropriate for our home. Willie replaced many incandescent bulbs with efficient fluorescent bulbs, as well as aerators, and inspected weather-stripping on windows and doors. They performed a blower door test, and inspected several areas of our home, looking for leaks and energy robbing appliances.
I was very impressed with the knowledge that Jesse and Willie brought to the table - they were both professional and courteous, and most importantly, well informed. Building science is something I have read about for years, and I found the these two able to answer every question I posed. I never received any pressure whatsoever to purchase additional services - they offered information only when I asked for it.
If you are concerned about finding ways to save on energy costs, I would heartily recommend an audit by Aiello's Jesse and Willie.
