My husband A Navy Disabled Veteran always took our 3 cars to Steves, before he passed away March31 2011. 2 days after what would have been my husbands birthday my last car I had left broke down. The transmission went out. That cost me 1,800.00 which is understandable they are expensive but suppose to last. So on 08/22/2011 I had an over hauled transmission. I don't drive much due to my disability and that I can't afford the gas so the car when it went out again I only had 8,878 miles on my transmission. Called Steve and told the office manager and I said I know that it is past the warranty but I haven't even put 9,000 miles on my car since it was overhauled. She told me multiple times I could bring it up there and they would take care of it. I must have asked 6 times. But Steve called me back when they found out it was my transmission as I thought , and very meanly told me it would not be covered. I suppose the office manager told him what she said to me and he was mad and taking it out on me. I was upset and crying because 1 I wouldn't have taken it up there if they weren't going to take care of it because of the lack of miles on that transmission. And because I am broke and have been trying to get my widows benefits from the VA for 3 years, that is why I checked my fluids and drove my car so little. I would hope that a transmission would last more than it did. I WILL NEVER RECOMMEND STEVES, AS I HAVE BEEN DOING FOR THE LAST 3 YEARS OR TRIPLE A TRANSMISSION WHO HE SENT MY TRANSMISSION TOO, WHO TOLD ME THEY WOULD FIX IT FOR 850.00 (YEAH RIGHT WHEN i SAID I ONLY HAD 8, SOMETHING MILES ON IT HE SAID IT WAS CLOSER TO 10.000 SO IF YOU TAKE YOUR TRANSMISSION THERE THEY THINK IT IS OKAY FOR A OVERHAUL TRANSMISSION TO ONLY LAST 10,00- MILES). IF AN EMPLOYEE TELLS A CUSTOMER SOMETHING YOU SHOULD HONOR IT. i KNOW THAT SHE HAS BEEN WITH THAT SHOP AT LEAST 10 YEARS. I will be posting to every Veterans Group page I can find about this and to warn any and all vets away. I'm disabled and now I have a car that might blow up on me any day, so I have even more time all day every day to write on every site I can find, just the facts and only the facts. And yes Steve it was past the warranty but I wouldn't have brought it up to you if I hadn't been told to since it had so little miles.
