Businiess name:  Area Best Heating & Air - HVAC Services
Review by:  clifton c.
Review content:
First I gotta point out that all the 5star reviews for these area best were published by the same dude on the same day in 2010.... out of legitimacy, i will only post 1 review.... i guess the other guy is like a PAC and attempting to make a point by simply flooding and displacing other ideas... i digress... these guys were supposed to fabricate a fan shroud.... 2 pieces of sheet metal, 1 for the fan collar, the other for the shroud itself. it was supposed to cost between $100 and $200. It took them a few tries to get it functional (not right, just functional). cooler connections were boxed in, not accessible. giant holes for air to bypass the cooling elements. The even partially blocked the airflow between the fan and heat exchange with this completely stupid box that also makes the entire shroud captive without disassembling the fan. The final product had 13 pieces of metal, riveted, welded and screwed on. A far cry from the parsimonious design where it started. Efficacy will only be know with time and trial, but the optimization of airflow (entire purpose of a shroud) has not been achieved. He then wanted $300 for this thing, refused to remake or modify, refused to negotiate price. and refused to release the cooling assembly I owned until he was paid $300 quote "cold hard, untraceable cash" refusing payment by check or credit card. These are some rather shady practices.
