If you have a choice, run! This hospital was the most dreadful experience of my life and for my family. The NICU is crap! my son was born 6 weeks early, he was a perfectly healthy baby other than the fact that his lungs were underdeveloped. He stayed in NICU for 11 days and the whole time it was hell! The nurses were rude and did not want to take the time to explain my sons status, and they treated my husband and I as just an inconvenience. To top this all off try would only feed my baby my breast milk every 4 hours. I did not have a problem with this at first until I started noticing my son rolling around grunting and trying to suck on anything near his mouth, because of this I started telling the nurses I think my sons hungry..but every time I told them the nurses would blow me off with comments such as "you don't want to spoil you baby" or "you'll know when he's hungry he'll start screaming." Through my research it turns out a lot of preemies don't cry for things such as food because they're underdeveloped so don't know any better yet. The day my son was supposed to be discharged I got a call from this hospital & was told my son has lost a concerning amount of weight & even weighed less than his birth weight! Needless to say I was angry & when I expressed these concerned to another nurse her reply was flat out "well we just don't have the time to be feeding these babies more often than every 3 hours." After hearing this I ended up staying then next 2-3 nights with my son in the hospital so I could make sure he was being fed, I had to sneak extra feedings because despite my son having list weight the drs still were not feeding my son more often. Of course in the end my son was just fine once I made sure he was being fed more often & was discharged once he proved he could gain weight. now my son Is 5 months old & is due for another apt at this hospital and of course I'm having nothing but issues with these ppl over the phone. I dread having to take him back
