I went to have a few skintags removed. They are not normally covered by insurance anymore and the doctor normally charges $150.00 (self pay) to remove up to 10 or so - no biopsy or path done) When they told me this I told them that Florida Blue said they would cover removal since it was "in an irratation spot". Took 5 minutes to remove two. On the way out they told me the cost about $200 according to insurance. Asked me how I wanted to pay. I told them to bill insurance since I had an HRA. They billed for that and biopsy and path. $600 my charge. They are refusing to take off the path – which they would not have done if I had paid cash…. Nor did they tell me about doing it..
