This is my "I NEED TO GET OUT OF TOWN.... NOW!!!!" safe haven. I love this place. Thinking back I have probably stayed here a total of six times over four years. I like to think that I have this place down to a science.\r I've learned to reserve a room in the court or pay the extra price for a "premium location". This means that you are on the top floor with vaulted ceilings and not street side. The street side faces a large hotel that is host to weddings, proms, conventions ,etc. and can have a lot of street noise. You tend to hear a lot of it if you are trying to sleep.\r The location is great. There is a small general store about 1/2 block away. We always stock up on cocktails, juice, crackers, etc. for our room. It's a much better value than indulging in the in-room treats that will cost you big time. Also within walking distance is "old" Monterey which has a variety of restaurants and pubs. It is also a very short walk to the pier. I love the choices that are available w
