Review content:
We first looked for places near Torrington to have our wedding ceremony/reception. We looked at several places and then we met with James(The Chef). We really liked the prices which is why I rated the value a 4.0. He seemed like the straight shooter type that just wanted to make sure that your wedding would go off and everything would be perfect. We put down a deposit and we were off to the races. Maybe a month later we had a family issue that made having the money to pay for the wedding near impossible. We put down a deposit of $500.00 which is what most people make every week or even two weeks. We called every place where we placed a deposit and explained our unfortunate position. Every place we called we got our deposit back except for Cornucopia. This was a little shocking seeing that some of the places we did receive our deposit back were small companies/mom and pop stores/DJ/Photographer. People or businesses that could certainly use the extra income and do not supposedly generate 1-2.5 million dollars worth of revenue like Cornucopia. We had several places that also had us sign contracts that indicated the deposit was non-refundable and we got our deposit back. If your going to get married especially at Cornucopia make sure you really want to get married there. Do not put any deposits down or any additional money because when an unfortunate event happens and you cant pay for the rest...they will take your money and run.
