Review content:
I've been a patient at Acworth Family Eyecare for over 3 years. I go in for yearly checkups, and the first 2 years things were fine. I returned for my 3rd visit and things have really changed. The level of professionalism among the staff members is not what it should be. Simply put, I like my doctor (Poteet), but she is way to over booked to be a good attentive doctor; and the staff are apathetic about caring for the patients. I no longer feel that I will receive good care from this organization. Following is the details that resulted in my decision.\r When I was seen by the doctor she was very prompt in beginning the exam, however, before my exam was completed she was leaving me to go see other patients. She also failed to give me any details about the contacts she was giving me, I received a pair to wear and then she handed me one contact, not one SET but just one contact (for my right eye), but didn’t explain why. She handed it to me in the hallway, at the wash station, right next to the waiting room and then went back to her other patient. This gave me no opportunity to ask questions. I left with no info on whether or not I was supposed to be trying these out or if I needed to come back for a follow up. Everyone seemed too busy to help me, so I just decided to leave and call later for clarification.\r When I called and explained my situation, the person I spoke with was very impatient and terse. She behaved as if she was just trying to get me off the phone. Granted, I called at 4:30, 30 minutes before they close, but that doesn’t justify treating me as if I were a nuisance. She didn’t have the answer to my questions, so she put me on hold. After waiting 5 minutes, I can only guess that this person just wanted to leave early and decided she wasn’t going to deal with me, because she forwarded me on to someone else. This resulted in me having to start at the beginning. This person was much more patient, and after several minutes and several times of being put on hold she was able to tell me that I had received a trial pair. However, she could not explain why she only gave me one extra contact for my left eye. When I told her that I was fine with everything, and that I wanted to order my contacts, she told me I would have to call back on Monday, probably because by that time it was 5 minutes to close. Yes, it actually took 25 minutes to tell me this very basic information! Needless to say, I did not call back on Monday; I’ve had it with them and decided to order my contacts online. I will never be back and will advise other not to go there.
