All 3 of my boys took the free SAT test and subsequently, received additional tutoring to help increase their scores. As we all know, the higher the SAT scores, the higher the achievement scholarships at the various schools. One may think that the cost of the tutoring is high but, given the amount of money we saved in tuition, it was well worth it! My first son increased his scores from the first test by around 200 points. That additional 200 points saved us $7000 in out of state tuition, as well as helped earn other scholarships based on academics (around $3000). My second son attended in-state and wasn't as motivated to earn the scholarships but, had he applied for the scholarships in time, we would have been saved another $4000 at least. His scores increased considerably as well. My third son took the additional training to heart. He applied himself to the additional studies for the SATs and from the 1st SAT he took to the last, he had increased it by 330 points - a near perfect score in math - but the greatest increase was in the areas he needed it - verbal and writing! He has not yet chosen his school but the increase in scores have already provided him an additional $6000 at one school he's looking at to $8000 savings at another! In addition to an invitation in an elite engineering program at one of the schools. The only piece that Sylvan does not have control over is your son's or daughter's desire to improve - to care about it. My first son thought he knew everything already and would rarely be prepared for the classes but what he did get out of it helped immensely. My second son knew he had already made it into the school he wanted and didn't care too much. My last son jumped all over it! I would highly recommend this program to my friends and family!
