Review content:
Dr. Barbieri was the anesthesiologist that worked with my son for his dental surgery. When she was about to put the anesthesia mask on his face, he started to sit up from the stretcher. Dr. Barbieri grabbed my son by the hair at the top of his head while standing behind him and pulled him back to put the mask on. I was speechless! How could a doctor do this to a child.....especially one with special needs! She did this right in front of me and then said non-chalantly ""Ok mom, now give your son a kiss.""\r
I am APPALLED at Dr. Barbieri's behavior. I didn't say anything at the time because I was concerned with my son's surgery. Is this how anesthesiologists approach children that are already anxious and afraid in an operating room at Morristown Memorial? Is this acceptable behavior from a physician? How many children are ever relaxed in this type of setting? You don't get to choose your anesthesiologist, but beware if you get Dr. Barbieri especially if you have a child! I'm positive that this is not the first time she has taken this approach. As parents, my husband and I are DISGUSTED by Dr.Barbieri and will warn everyone who might encounter her of her practice!
