It's pretty much a "holding tank" - they will keep you until your insurance runs out. No separation of violent or sexually inappropriate patients; no access to your bedroom (and hence bathroom as well) unless a staff member feels like letting you in. There was absolutely no access to necessary medical treatment, and when I asked to be discharged in order to see my own medical doctor, I was repeatedly threatened with court orders. The psychiatrist refused to meet with, speak to, or even let me see or speak to my husband (who even tried calling the police to get me out of that hellhole!) The only thing that eventually worked? He called the insurance company and told them to cut off payment authorization.
Please, please, save yourself and anyone you care about from that terrible place! Research Psychiatric Center is a very humane place - though so is any other psych ward, compared to this place!
(Did I mention that I was sent there against my will, naturally? I was very upset due to a miscarriage and had been taken to the ER for vomiting blood - however I was clearly no danger to myself or anyone else! Beware St. Joseph Medical Center - they contract with Two Rivers.)
