DO NOT GO!!!! WORST SERVICE EVER!!! 3/6/14 I started taking my basset hound to LLVC approx. 5 years ago on a family friend's recommendation. At first they were great, both the techs. and the vet remembered us by name and my dog would gladly follow them into the back for any procedure. Slowly they started losing their regular techs. and the service suffered. I was taking my dog in almost monthly to have her anal glands expressed and nails trimmed. It started with them not fully expressing her anal glands which caused her discomfort (not to mention the terrible smell at home!) or missing a few nails during trimming. This was annoying but I gave them the benefit of the doubt and continued going. Two months ago she had her first ear infection in her 9 years of life so I took her in to have her ears cleaned professionally (I clean them at home weekly) and get medication for the infection. The infection cleared up and all was good. Just a few days ago I noticed that her ear gunk was building up faster than normal so I took her back hoping to get a deep clean and continue using the previous medication that I still had over half a bottle of. The tech took her into the back and moments later I heard my dog crying out in pain repeatedly. When they brought her back out they told me that they would not clear out her left ear without the vet looking at it first, despite the fact that after the vet inspection it would be the same tech cleaning her ear who refused to do so now. I understood there might be a different source of infection so I didn't raise a stink about it. Until they asked me to pay full price for a job they half completed. When I pointed out that they did not complete the service they basically just shrugged their shoulders at me. I was upset and left, intent on calling and talking to the actual vet. When I called back and asked to talk to the vet the tech who did the cleaning told me that wasn't possible. He then proceeded to tell me that I was not taking good care of my dog and that they had told me many, many times to bring her in for a visit since the last infection. This was an outright lie, as I had only brought my dog in once between the two infections and the only thing they said was to use up the medicine if her ears start to look bad. (Terrible advice considering that re-occurring ear infections are often a sign of new allergies and repeated use of the medication Otomax or Gentizol has been known to cause deafness!) I tried to reason with him that we have been loyal customers for years and have spent thousands of dollars there in surgeries, vet visits, and regular maintenance. In an exceedingly rude and condescending manner he told me that none of that matters and had zero interest in trying to right what was essentially a minor wrong. They could have just charged me half price for their half service and you would have never read this but now I feel the need to spread the word of this terrible business to every review site I can find. Do yourself and your pet a favor, find a vet that is interested in your animal's well being rather than trying to screw you over for $9.
