Review content:
We went on Valentines day and it was packed. There were 1/2 dozen couples waiting, yet they got us seated in about 10 minutes. While we were waiting to get seated, it gave me a couple minutes to look at some of the cool nostalgic art. I liked the vintage motorcycle's, an Indian Motorcycle sign a collection of cowboy boots etc. My favorite was the framed t-shirts and one in particular. I'm guessing it was from the owners other business as it was a caricature of 'Deckers Custom Bikes' and it said ""Costs More....Takes Longer"". I dig that attitude. Anyway, I'd eaten here before (a couple times a year) but never really noticed all the detail. It just makes for an overall nice atmosphere. The only table open was one that sat six. They asked us if that was ok or if we wanted to wait a few more minutes for a smaller table. We took it. The restaurant was clean (if you read any of my reviews you'll know that is important to me) and I watched a girl bus a table and she even wiped down the salt and pepper shakers as well as the underside edge of the table. I'm a sticky freak so I appreciated that. While looking at the menu, a couple more tables cleared and they were seating a family of six on a four seat table with a child stuck on each end. We offered to switch with the family and they really appreciated it, as did our server. He brought us complimentary chips and salsa and thanked us. Just then a two seat table opened up and we took that. \r \r I really like the lemonade because it reminds me of what my grandmother made. It's kind of tart and pulpy. It's not the fountain type. My wife got it with raspberries and it is good but too sweet for me. We both ordered the Trolley Chicken sandwich, mine without the fried onion straws. The food came out quickly and the sandwich was a good size. Neither one of us finished ours. It came with the option of a few sides and we both got the salad (minus sprouts). I'd suggest to the owners maybe a smaller portion on the salad or a larger plate. It's so big that it is hard to eat without overflowing on to the table. Great value but lots to eat. For dessert we split the Russian Creme and it was damn tasty. I understand it is either seasonal or only on special occasions. If it's in, get it. \r \r The meal came to $33.82 before tip. I felt it was a good value and we'll go back more often. If you've read any of my other reviews you'll see I always get a few pics. I got one with our server. I can't be sure on his name (maybe Cary) but he was excellent. He didn't use anything to write our order down with and got it perfect. He kept our drinks full and offered good suggestions on what to try. Lastly, I'm a big fan of carrot cake and ordered a slice to go. It's very heavy and the frosting is seriously tasty. I've been nibbling on it for a few days and only have a couple bites left.....bummer. The only carrot cake that I've found that is comparable is from Kneaders. This trumps that for sure though
