Just moved to town and went to Perez cuz he was nearby and covered by my ins. I have psoriasis, needed refills, & wanted to hear about new treatments. I had questions about the more serious meds, but when I asked the asst., she told me I 'needed to get educated'. (duh, thats why I was asking...)\r
The doc didn't even look at my skin. I never made it to the examining table. He didn't offer to fill refills, even though I said I needed some. I asked about an injection for psoriasis in the nails - takes about a minute. Doc said they could do that. But he made no effort to do it, and I figured that they wanted me to schedule and pay for another appt to get the shot. \r
I HAD TO ASK for ""literature"" about the more serious meds, they made no effort to educate me on it, or ease my fears, or explain how it could help me. I was given a bag of sample ointments and sent on my way. As the nurse was walking away she rattled off instructions of how to get out of the office. Since I had just walked from the waiting room through a door straight into the exam room, I wasn't sure why she was telling me to go down a hallway, take a right etc. She was going into another room and saw me standing there confused, so she just waved her arm down towards where I should be walking. I started walking and another nurse asked what I needed, and I said I just wanted to get the hell out of here. So she lead me around the hallway, through another door into the back side of the waiting room. There were no signs stating ""this way out"". It seemed like an awful lot of confusion just to get me to the 'check out desk'. \r
By the time I got to the car I was in tears. I felt the staff and doc were condescending, and that I was some dirty disgusting creature they were forced to deal with. If I had been a rich lady paying cash for botox they probably would have liked me. \r
My neighbor went there once and said he would never go back. Also, a local pharmacist told me he wasn't impressed with Perez's office.
