Review content:
I'm not one to post reviews but I felt compelled to share the completely miserable experience I had at the West Monroe, Louisiana location. A few nights ago, my family and I decided to go out to Cheddar's and enjoy a nice dinner for Valentines Day. Yes, we completely understand it was a busy day, and we had no problem with longer wait times. Everything started off great - Our table took less time than we were originally told, readied in just about 30 mins after arrival. Our waitress was nice and did an excellent job attending to us. We ordered a couple of adult drinks and our food. Thus began what would turn out to be an hour and 20 minute wait to eat the most horrible food that I have personally ever seen come out of ANY restaurant kitchen. My teenage daughter received undercooked shrimp and badly microwaved broccoli and cheese casserole, with both hot and cold parts all though it. My own broccoli and cheese casserole was just plain cold. Both of us also got rice with our meals that had been heated in microwaved water but not actually cooked at all. It was hard - warm, but the same texture as it comes right out of bag. The vegetables were only slightly warm and very rubbery, obviously microwaved as well. My lemon pepper chicken tasted like something left over from the day before and microwaved, as it was warm but extremely dry and very hard....I couldn't even swallow the one bite I took out of it, it was THAT bad. My six year old daughter received cold corn, probably dumped straight from the can onto her plate, and a ""grilled cheese"" that was literally bread straight from the bag with cold cheese straight from the refrigerator and cut into triangles - had not been cooked at all. My husband had the same cold hard food as the rest of us. Not one member of my family had one ounce of EDIBLE food on our plates. We complained to the manager, who SAW what we had on the table, yet seemed to not understand why we were so upset. In regards to the microwaved veggies, she said ""yes, that's how we do it."" Really?! In the end, she finally took all the food off our ticket and we paid only for our drinks, which is fine.....though after that experience, I think the least she could have done would have been to comp the whole thing. Our poor children were extremely hungry by that point after waiting so long and then not getting to eat the food that was given to them. It was a total of two hours wasted in this establishment that culminated in complete disappointment and left me wondering if this restaurant is even serving food that is safe. They obviously don't care about what comes out of the kitchen. By the way, all the other tables around us were also complaining to the manager about their food as well. I can tell you for 100% certainty that we will never again attempt to dine at this restaurant and will instead take our business elsewhere. Thank you, Cheddar's, for utterly RUINING Valentines Day for me and my family.
