I take my vehicle to AA exclusively but my last few visits seemed to be less than favorable. I requested a coolant system flush which I though involved the entire cooling system including the heater core. However, they only drained my radiator and replaced the coolant. Therefore, I have to pay another service fee for them to flush the heater core. The problem is that I specifically stated that the air from my heater does not get warm. As ASE certified mechanics they should have took initiative to advice me that a coolant system flush they offered did not include unclogging the heater core and that would be a separate service. Considering it is the middle of winter, I do not have heat and this is my 2nd time bringing my vehicle to them about the heat, They should have flushed the heater core first instead of circumventing the problem by performing the service that I requested considering I'm not a mechanic. In short, if a layman says my heater is blowing out cold air; I think I need a coolant flush, a mechanic should look for the heater problem and offer a service that addresses the problem, and not only perform the service that the layman suggests. $115 later, I still do not have heat.
