Review content:
Craftsman Upholstery is a gem of a shop! And, Eric, the owner, is one of the most helpful, courteous and professional shop owners I've had the pleasure of working with in a long time. I drove my 1972 350SL Mercedes AMG wannabe. that had vintage black cloth Recaro seats with integrated speaker headrests, to Craftsman to get ideas of what to do with the seats and get a quote for the work. Eric didn't know that I've already had two other upholstery shops (that shall remain unnamed) provide me estimates for a basic reupholster job. Both shops didn't offering much guidance or suggestions on what could be done -- I wasn't getting that positive vibe that would allow me to have them work on my seats. Anyway, when I stopped by Craftsman, Eric spent almost 45 minutes with me to explain the options available to me and show me several books of material samples. I really wanted the seats to match the rest of the cars interior, which I've been told by several Mercedes affectionados, is a rare two-tone tan and black MB-Tex vinyl combination. Eric assured me he could closely match the seats to the interior, so I accepted his price quote (not a low price, but a fair price) and left him a rear seat cushion as a reference. Well, I have to say, I picked up the seats today and I'm thrilled! The Recaro's look like they originally came with the car -- and they again feel like new Recaro's -- firm, yet comfortable. I also must add that Eric's shop had quite a few vintage cars in during my several trips to the shop. These were very professional custom and stock auto restorations where the car exteriors were already done and Craftsman was completing the interior restorations. I also saw a boat waiting for renovation and reupholstered table protoyptes that Craftsman was working on for a commercial interior designer. Craftsman rocks!
