Where to begin?! My husband and I decided that we wanted to put our 5-month old lab through a 1 month board and train program so that he could learn the basics before we started training him in agility. After seeing this place on Google and with the good reviews and many certifications that the owner had, we picked Mulberry Creek Kennels. It seemed to start out fine until we would call for updates. The owner wouldn’t pick up the phone and just small things like that. Then we called about 3 weeks into the program and the owner was on a week-long mission trip in South America! While he assured us his brothers were trainers too, we did not pay to have other people train our dog. What tops the cake is the day we picked him up. Once again, the owner could not be bothered to be present and one of his brothers brought us the puppy. He seemed to be hiding the kennels and didn’t let us see him where he was staying. All I could see was rows of dogs going crazy in the kennels. What he brought out to us was a malnourished looking puppy. He immediately had diarrhea by the car before we loaded him up. The next week after that was pure hell. He had nonstop diarrhea, was diagnosed with tapeworms, we couldn’t even begin to work on his weight because he couldn’t keep the food down, and he picked up some really bad habits like barking at random people and dogs (he didn’t before) and he went back to being not housebroken! The only obvious thing that I saw was that he could now sit on command. After $300 later in vet bills, I can’t tell you enough. STAY AWAY FROM THIS PLACE! I will never again trust someone with my dog after this kennel. Thanks a lot. By the way, the owner refuses to answer the phone and explain why our puppy looks the way he does. Great job.
