Review content:
At the end of February of 2013, I was diagnosed with Stage I DCIS II breast cancer. Not soon after my diagnosis, I decided to have a double mastectomy. After a referral from Dr. Jay Orringer, I decided to interview Dr. Kristi Funk at the Pink Lotus Breast Center. Everyone in the office is so nice and helpful. They made me feel at ease from the moment I stepped in for my appointment. It made me less nervous about the surgery knowing that I was in such good hands. From the time I met Dr. Funk, I felt completely at ease. Dr. Funk was very caring and very informative. She took the time to explain every part of the surgery and diagnosis to me (mastectomy and reconstruction). As soon as I had any blood test done, Dr. Funk would call me personally to let me know what the result was. \r \r After the mastectomy portion of the surgery, Kristi came up from the surgery room and meticulously explained each part of the surgery and told my family exactly how the surgical procedure went. Whenever I go into the office for my post operative checkup (every 6 months checking on the lymph nodes), she always greets me with a hug and asks how I am doing. It is so comforting that she truly cares about all of her patients. She is such a wonderful surgeon! My scarring is minimal and I most importantly I have my health back,\r \r With her wealth of experience, Dr. Funk made a bad experience better and I am so happy with the results so far.
