I hired these movers for my move from Schaumburg, IL to Canton MI. When we explained what we needed to move when we initially contacted them they provided us a quote and also said that this is a flat rate quote for one bedroom apartment. We explained them in detail what all needs to be moved, however, they omitted some stuff that was discussed over the phone in their quote, and they stressed that it is a flat rate quote. For example, while on the phone, we explained to them that we have a king size bed, with mattress and box spring and we also told them that we have a mattress cover that they can use, they seemed to understand what we told them, however, in the quote they only wrote a king size bed, with headboard and footboard, and omitted the mattress. When we received the quote we noticed that mattress was missing, but since we were told that it is flat rate move, and since we already discussed how they will pack the mattress we assumed it is included. Same holds for TV, we told them that we have the box for TV, but they only wrote TV stand. On the moving day, they showed up late by around an hour and immediately started hauling boxes without saying anything about the other stuff or mentioning that there is something that they will not move. When they were done with some 7 boxes, they mentioned that i will need to pay extra for items not in the list. It came as a complete shock to us, if they were intending to charge extra, they should have mentioned it before taking the boxes down to their truck. Needless to say, it was a very frustrating moment for me. They almost demanded double the money the contract had and were very rude. They also damaged the headboard of my bed while removing the mattress and box spring. It is an expensive bed, and they should pay for the repair. I can even provide the picture of the damage they did. I was not happy and asked them to get my stuff back to my apartment and move. They then called my wife and shouted at her, saying that she is not listening to them. All of my boxes, which were handled by these guys were damaged. and they created a lot of problem for me, as my lease is also expiring, and now i have to move my stuff at a higher price because of the urgent situation. These guys need to learn that in a moving quote a month in advance one cannot be very exact about petty items like an ironing board, or a couple of empty buckets, or minor inaccuracy about the number of boxes. It appears to me that these guys initially give a lower quote, by deliberately omitting stuff, and then demanding a very high price when they are at the venue on the moving date. As most people move at the last day of their lease, these guys want to exploit it. I not only ask them to refund the initial 200 dollars they took as initial deposit, but also reimburse me for the damage they have done to my bed and to my stuff in the boxes. I have reported them to BB and I hope BBB will take this complaint very seriously, and remove their A+ rating which prompted me to hire theses guys in the first place.
