I would really like to know why an snow emergency was not declared yesterday. We received 9 1/2 inches. Roads were terrible. I closed my childcare center which only closes in an emergency. I felt I should not put my staff in danger even though there wasn't an emergency according to the city and county. I had several parents complain because they still had to go to work. Two of them work for the city of Fort Wayne. This is a sad situation. So, what make it an emergency weather situation? Cold air with the amount of snow should not had a bearing. 9 1/2 inches is 9 1/2 inches on top of the other snow.
