This is Dr. Duhon's office responding to the 5/1/2011 review by consumber07: Our charges are set in accordance with national standards of orthopedic surgeons. Also, reimbursement is pre-negotiated with insurance providers and you are billed exactly what has been agreed upon by your insurance company and our practice. Your deductible is established between the patient and their insurance company and our charges have absolutely no relevance to the deductible. All tests and treatments ordered are done based on the goal of making a definitive diagnosis and treatment plan that is successful. The nerve test is an EMG and is ordered in all cases of suspected carpal tunnel. Splinting and observation are the initial treatments for carpal tunnel, with surgery indicated only when these fail. Finally, no physician in our practice is an investor in Spine Team Texas.
