I applied for a reverse mortgage on my home that has no mortgage, no liens, and is debt free. I am 63 and qualified for an RM. Well, that was on July 5, 2013 and here it is the second week of January 2014 and STILL NOT CLOSED! Every excuse in the book has been thrown at me....all but one (the government shutdown in Oct/2013) has been needless and/or irrelevant to closing my loan. These stupid delays have cost me thousands in lost available loan funds and higher interest rates, because new rules started on 1/1/2014. I have been lied to, misinformed, deceived, ignored, yelled at (email style), told to quit complaining! This involves the Sierra Vista, AZ office and I would never, ever recommend HTL to any of my friends or family.
