Warning to all pet owners...DO NOT BRING YOUR PET TO VCA SOUTH SHORE ANIMAL HOSPITAL! Our family dog, whom had had a terrible beginning of his life (he was abused- we had rescued him) developed an infection. When we brought him to VCA SSAH as an emergency visit @ 12am, they prescribed him antibiotics and gave him meds for the pain, sent us home after paying $400. The next day, his entire head swelled to the size of a large beach ball. He then went back to the hospital. They tested his blood, couldnt identify the infection and immediately demanded payment of $1300!!! During his hospital stay, they called multiple times that day saying he was getting better but they would like to keep him one more night. All of a sudden, we receive another call telling us his progress is at a stand still but they can def get him better. They then continued with, "we can fix him, but not without payment".
