Review content:
On our first visit, it started with Donna, our warm, friendly & awesome salesperson who assisted us through our process with purchasing our RV. On the day we went to purchase our RV, the regular financier was not present, so Mike Dewan, manager of sales, assisted us with his condescending and demeaning manner. We brought to his attention that the tires appeared to be old and the treads looked warned down. Disdainfully, he told us all the tires were guaranteed to be in good condition, as they all had 70% tread and were of legal standards. We urged him to take a look, but he was dismissive with his retort that he’ll get the service person to take a look. He did not want to have a conversation with us regarding the safety of the tires, but was persistent in us signing documents to buy the RV, while he clearly knew we had safety concerns. We ended up talking in the lobby, where he walked past us with ill comments under his breath, and ultimately we ended up leaving, as it was clear that Mike Dewan did not want our business and he had disregard for safety concerns for us and the public.\r \r Due to Donna being kind and again informing us that she was informed that the interested RV tires had 70% life on them, on 1/10/14, we went back and bought the RV; this time with the helpful of financier Darilynn. We also went back and bought the RV, as we were naïve and ultimately believed El Monte RV’s word that the tires had 70% tread left on them. We came to believe that they knew their tires and they couldn’t be so unethical and have disregard for safety. \r \r On our first road trip on 1/16/14, just 70 miles in, the inner right tire blew up and also damaged one of the outside compartments. After being towed to a tire service station, we were told that all the tires had at least 50% or lower tread left and the one tire that blew up, was manufactured in ‘05 and it was in bad condition. We were also told that the outer four tires were manufactured in ‘08 and the other inner tire was manufactured in ’07 and they would all need to be replaced before the next road trip, as the tires were in poor condition. Please note that the tire company knew that we were only going to purchase one tire from them and we would be buying the other tires in our hometown. \r \r We brought this matter up to El Monte RV, as we were waiting for the tow truck, so they could practice ethically. We also brought this to their attention, so they could learn to place safety first, but to no avail, other than Donna having to waste her breath to advocate for us and her be given the same mantra from management to tell us that all the tires had 70% life on them and that they were within legal standards. \r \r Donna thanks for your kindness and wonderful customer service! \r
