I called to make an appt and Penny who answered the phone (very nice, btw) told me that as of Jan 1, the state of Texas is making customers of any injectable service pay a ""doctor"" an additional one-time $50 annual fee before you can have the licensed professional inject you with Botox, etc. Doesn't matter if you've been getting injectables for 5 years, doesn't matter if you've been getting injectables for 5 years from the same person, a new state law says you must pay some doctor 50 bucks first, to say hello to you, look at your face for a minute, get his approval for the year and THEN you go back to the person who will actually inject you. \r

It's not technically Beautiful Solutions fault, mind you, it's the really fault of this greedy state who has found yet another new avenue to rob the citizen when they go to a med spa. HOWEVER, I'm giving a low rating because I do feel that Beautiful Solutions should deduct this alleged fee if you bought a Groupon for this service in 2013. Not really fair that they were aware of this new law change and didn't disclose this information in the Groupon's fine print. Unfortunately, that's not being offered here-- only the surprise of it all. That's not cool.\r

I do like Beautiful Solutions, very much, but I don't like the idea that I have to pay, without warning, some large hidden fee. Just preposterous.\r

UPDATE: I just spent some time calling around to other med spas, plastic surgeon's and dermatologist's offices in the area and NONE of which I spoke with are charging this so-called ""$50 annual one-time fee."" Yes, a new law has been passed where a certain type of licensed practitioner has to meet you briefly first, but these other med spas and medical offices I spoke with are not passing on any kind of additional fee to their customers regarding this law. And that makes proper sense-- no customer/client should be responsible for paying a required licensing fee and/or state credit fee for any type of business or for any cosmetic professional; that is for the business (and the individuals providing these cosmetic services) to pay in order to practice and serve! Don't be bamboozled. Would you help pay your doctor and/or aesthetician to keep their yearly state required credits up-to-date? Of course you wouldn't.\r

Sadly, I'll be going elsewhere with this newfound info (I say sadly because Cindy was really awesome. But I'm not willing to help pay their personal/business licensing fees to operate). Groupon refunded my money for the BS purchases I made. They are spectacular.\r
