Review content:
Stayed at Hotel Cornell for a long get-away weekend in San Francisco. This small hotel was constructed in 1910, the property has always been a hotel. Rooms are clean and tastefully/comfortably furnished, Common areas are likewise clean, attractive and functional. The included American breakfast (French toast or eggs and bacon) served in the basement dining room (again very clean and comfortable) makes a wonderful start to the day. Didnt try the restaurant for dinner, however did learn it is popular with locals for an authentic French meal. Most walls in the common areas are decorated with either murals or artwork. Found that to really add charm and uniqueness to the decor. Now understand that this hotel is not a Marriott, Hilton, Westin, etc etc. Some might find the traffic noise intrusive and the actual size of the room too cramped. If you are expecting a business-class hotel like the cookie-cutter chains then you might want to pass. If you are looking for a cozy, romantic, unique experience in San Francisco then you have to check this place out. With only 50 rooms the staff takes the time to get to know you and personalize your experience. That was truly wonderful! Parking is at a garage across the street - $20 a night (great deal for SF) with unlimited in/out and priority on account of being a hotel guest. The value received at Hotel Cornell is as good as I have experienced anywhere in the world.
