I have had many experiences with this hospital- some planned (maternity) and some unplanned. The hospital and care received is worthy of 4 or more stars in most cases, however, the billing/payment procedures are terrible. If you cannot pay your bill in 12 months, you are ""bullied"" into taking out a loan from the ""Bank of Nevada"", which you have 25 months to pay. When my husband had salmonella poisoning and was in the hospital for 5 nights, and you have a $15,000 deductible- even 25 months is not enough time to pay for the hospital stay plus doctors, lab techs, anyone who touches him sends a bill etc. \r \r We have racked up over $20,000 worth of debt to Florida Hospital in 2 years, and part of it is crappy insurance, but most of it is unreasonable billing procedures!! On the second unplanned visit, my 2 year old was throwing up blood so I took him to urgent care, they sent us to the hospital, and kept us for 3 nights, the bill- over $25,000- for antinausea medicine and gatorade. I was recently in the ER for 4 hours with an allergic reaction that caused hives and my DR said I had to go to the ER for breathing treatments- the bill was $11,000!!!! 4 hours in the ER! \r \r We applied for financial aid after the third and fourth unplanned visits and were denied. I want to pay for services provided, but I cannot tack on to my already extreme medical bill payments that I am being forced to make to ""Bank of Nevada"" every month in order to avoid interest being charged on medical bills. I have a mortgage, a car payment, child care, student loans etc \r \r The Orlando Business journal write an article about the top 25 paid health care professionals in Feb 2013... 20/25 are with Florida Hospital or Adventist Health, all making over a million. You have brand new buildings going up all over the place. Can you ask one of your higher paid health care professionals to help me out? My family cannot keep up!!!! And I am going to tell anyone who will listen.
