This was truly the worst hotel experiences I have ever had!
This is the recap of an extremely frightening moment after a "long" day at work (this was not a leisure stay, I was there on business).
At 1:15am in the morning, I had just gotten into bed and was just falling asleep when I was awoken by a "loud" knock . There was a man at my door telling me I didn't pay my bill; scared to death I called 911. He did not indicate that he was the night manager and this is not an enclosed facility: anyone off the street could enter the area. Police officers arrived, said the night manager wanted me to pay my bill because I wasn't pre-authorized. Couldn't they have waited until morning or left a note on the door?
I contacted the hotel the next day and although they offered a weak apology they offered no compensation for the inconvenience. They said they were only protecting themselves. What type customer typically stays at this place if they are so concerned about people bolting without paying their bill?? In addition they have charged me for both nights, even though I left at 2am after the night manager offered no apology for the inconvenience, and I was too uncomfortable to stay.
I contacted the Calistoga Chamber of Commerce who were also appalled and suggested I write a complaint. Done!!
For $170 per night there are many B&B's that are less expensive and far more appealing!!
Pros: None
Cons: Unprofessional staff, outdated ambience, unattractive facility and dirty. Ambience? they don't have a clue.
