Review content:
Pete's Auto Works served me well in the past. However, I recently took my Volvo in to have the check engine codes checked and to have the charging system checked out because I have been having problems with my charging system (clearly related to the contents of the alternator). I got charged for checking my check engine lights when there where none on because the dead battery cleared all the codes! Do you think a Volvo mechanic would have known that? No codes, no charge! They checked my charging system for a hefty fee even though I clearly explained the symptoms were intermittent. I was told nothing was wrong with my charging system, or my alternator, though all my dashboard lights sometimes come on after the car is turned off and kill the battery. I don't feel like any of the mechanics listened to me and tackled the root of the problem. Instead of getting the obvious problem solved, I was given a long list of nearly $3,000 dollars worth of recommended repairs -- money not well spent for half the day spent at the Volvo repair shop.
