Review content:
I will never shop here. Fortunately, I had a gift card, so I didn't spend my own money. I feel bad writing this review, because I love to shop small, local, stores to promote local businesses, and usually because you get great customer service. This review is coming from over 10 years of retail/customer service work, collegiate running, and a 5 time national qualifier. The owner was annoyed with me because I wanted to buy a zero drop shoe. He told me probably 1 dozen times he doesn't have zero drop shoes. I told him after each time, "yeah, that makes sense, if nobody in this area wants them, then why would you stock them." I told him I would pay him up front if he could order a zero drop shoe from his catalog and get it shipped here for me. He said, "I guess. As long as you actually buy it. I don't want it sitting on my shelf and I can't sell it." I told him, "I'd like to look at your catalog if I can." He literally sighed out loud, then walked to get the catalog. Walking back with the catalog, he said, "do you even know the name of the shoes you want?" I opted to just get a pair in the store. After trying them out for a week or so and reading some reviews on runblogger.com (shoe companies send him shoes just so he will review and post about them). I found myself having the same problems he and about a dozen other people who commented had - numbing of toes due to a smaller toe box. When I returned them I told the owner my toes were going numb and and after reading reviews it seemed like a pretty common problem. His only response was "it's not common at all." Happy to never have to go here again. Go to Striders or Gazelle instead. This guy will not put you in a good shoe.
