On July 4, 2008 my 7 year old long haired Chihuahua was bitten severely on the neck by one of our other dogs. We rushed Sugar to SCVEC and they immediately took her back. What we originally thought was a nasty bite that might need stitches turned out to be a severe wound that required surgery. Sugar came through it, and we are so very grateful to the doctor who saved her life. We are on our way to visit Sugar for the second evening in a row. She requires close care and attention while she recovers from her surgery, which the wonderful people there are providing. Because her accident was on a holiday followed by a weekend, the services that SCVEC has provided have been invaluable. The staff has checked on her and given us updates with every concerned phone call we've made (at least twice a day). They have allowed us to visit and hold her for as long as we like.
