My house had burned down, and my contractor just stopped showing up after realizing that with all of his mistakes, he wouldn't make money. So here I am trying to finish a house on my own. I called tile contractors, and most of them wouldn't show up, and the guy who did agree to do the job didn't show up for the first day of work and then wouldn't call me back. I couldn't afford to have him do the whole job anyway because my budget was destroyed by the general contractor. I was getting very discouraged, as the tile work was holding up me being able to get indoor plumbing, hot water, a shower, a proper bathroom and kitchen, and so on, which I hadn't had in years due to the insurance company, etc., just messing with me. \r \r Tile and Marble Outlet recommended Joe. Not only did he show up, but he has years of experience, is always positive and full of energy, and gave me a bid a could afford. He works incredibly fast! In just a week, he had tiled the entire floor of the house, a bathroom and part of another (I held him up by not having enough tile), and my kitchen. Not only that, my job was more difficult because I had shopped in tile boneyards (such as Fireclay Tile) for tile, the tile was of different thicknesses, and it was a very colorful display -- as he put it, more of a ""work of art"" than a straight tile job. While the others complained bitterly about this, he seemed to love it and eagerly jumped in and did an outstanding job. Everyone who sees it says ""WOW!"" It is totally unique. He really cares, he's reliable, and he's not creepy: all of these things seem hard to find in Santa Cruz. HIGHLY RECOMMEND! He literally transformed my living situation into something civilized. I'm so grateful to him.
