Review content:
All my dealings directly with Miguel of Patriot were great! Patriot was very professional, and delivered.
However, the paint crew they hired was a different story. This crew was from JM Painting, and I would refuse their service next time. They cut corners, did not follow the contract, and delivered a poor to average service.
The paint crew did not use drop cloths in many cases. They got paint on my patio stones and concrete. The worst was the overspray on my skylight. I wrote to Miguel and warned that the skylights are acrylic and thus very delicate. I arrived home to find the painters using metal paint scrapers to clean the skylight...they ruined one by scratching it. Patriot did remove the cost of replacing the skylights from my bill, but I still have to go through the hassle of having them replaced when a single dropcloth would have prevented everything.
The painters did not prep well. They did not scrape most of my flaking paint, and instead painted over it. They also did a poor job of caulking and never sanded or primed as is spelled out in the contract.
A few cut corners ended up costing Patriot in the end. I'm sure I will call them out in 1 year to repair the already failing paint (bubbling and flaking due to no prep work). I hope Patriot hires better subcontractors in the future.
