As a 20 year member it makes me sad to see someone so misrepresent this wonderful church!\r Yes, our hardworking ushers wear earpieces, we have so many precious children around and lots of strangers, our pastors feel we can't be too careful. If you are new and are wandering around, someone will want to know what you are doing...just read the newspaper every day! Pastor Paul does not want anything to happen here, church should be a safe place. \r \r As far as equating the church to Jonestown there are no words...perhaps you should look around the property, there is a Distribution Center that is bigger than the church where tons of gently used clothing is sorted and sent to all the missions, homeless shelters and battered women's shelters. There is a food pantry in the church that distributes tons of food annually to people who may not even attend the church. May I add that all of this is done with volunteers!\r \r Sure we worship in the gym but it is more important to reach out to the poor and hungry, which is what the Bible instructs, than to sit our rears in a plush pew in a dimly lit sanctuary! If you don't have a heart for the hungry, poor and naked and their souls, then you really can't say you are a believer in the Word! Harvest Church is following the instructions of Jesus.Christ and we are not ashamed of doing so.
