Review content:
Someone needs to educate themselves on alternative medicine, then write an apology. What you smelled was not marijuana, but moxibustion. This is the 2000 year old practice of burning moxa (dried mugwort) to heat acupuncture points in order to smooth energy/blood flow in order to relieve pain and promote healing. The process is conducted by attaching moxa to the end of an acupuncture needle and lighting it or by lighting a moxa stick. Dr. Smith is an expert in the use of alternative medicine, in addition to traditional medicine. Hot Springs is very fortunate to have a vet possessing these skills, as these treatments are usually found only in larger cities. Alternative medicine is not taught in vet schools, so Dr. Smith sought out specialized training in order to provide care that is not provided by other vets in Hot Springs. This speaks to her commitment to healing our animals.
