I hired Kiko auctioneers to liquidate the assets of my recently deceased parent. As per our contract we were to pack up all the items for sale and Kiko auctioneers would come to the residence and load all the items for $250.00 per truckload. It took 2 truckloads. I hired them soley due to their well known name and reputation....or so I thought. I expected that a "Professional" well known co has a responsibility to provide secure and all necessary equipment to adequately run an auction. I expected to the fullest of their ability to adequately attempt to receive fair market value for every item to be sold. I expected that upon receiving all said items to be sold that they are to be secured against damage until transferred to the purchaser. Unfortunately none of the above happened. The weather in Ohio can be unpredictable Rain and or Snow is commonplace in Dec. Therefore contingencies for inclement weather should be availble. It is not appropriate to place decorator items in perfect saleable condition outside in a pouring down rainstorm, so that now they are wet, covered in mud and destroyed. No effort was taken at all to secure these items against damage. They are now unsellable and unable to be sold at a fair market value. Now I know why my family was strongly encouraged NOT TO ATTEND the auction. They did not even try to maximize these items to their full potential. Instead the bidding on very expensive items was started out at $5.00. No attempt was made to describe what make or artist or origin of the items were. This misrepresentaion undervalued the price and conception to the attendees that these must be cheap "fake" or reproductions of more valuable pieces. I have filed a grievence with the Ohio Depatment of Agriculture as well, in order to let other trusting people know that Kiko Auctioneers do not hold your best interests at all. They are total scam artists and I did not hire a trash removal service to take my property and dump it to be destroyed.
