Businiess name:  Alco Halfway House

Review content:
Heed my warning, do NOT chose Alco House for your recovery. The manager Chris Haines kicks people out of the house simply because he doesn't like you, or you don't fit into his Alco House clique. Additionally the house is falling apart, during my stay there, one person had the ceiling cave in on their room and our bathroom--which we had to share with 7 other guys--was broken down for three days. That left one bathroom for a house of 30+ people.\r And to make matters worse, there are people using drugs in the house. I heard that some of the oldtimers there actually sell drugs to other residents. \r You know the place is struggling when the manager has to write a review of the place. Don't believe me, see that third comment below. Mr. Haines has a horrible reputation in the recovery community.\r Just to give you an idea of my situation, I am working the 12-step program, have a sponsor, attended all their mandatory meetings and Mr. Haines still kicked me out because he seemed to think I didn't fit in to his house. Sure he made up some trivial rule I broke to save face, but that's the truth. Mr Haines is putting people's lives at risk but the way he is running his house. While I was there, I witnessed at least three people that were kicked out of the house, not for using drugs, not for not doing their chores, not for anything near important. Simply put, Mr Haines didn't like them, and he doesn't think twice about kicking people out on the street.\r He does not care one bit about the residents in his house. \r Choose anywhere else but here. Trust me. Mr. Haines is not a respectable person. You don't want to end up on the streets. while you are trying to get sober simply because you rub some old guy the wrong way.\r And finally this place is littered with racist comments, some said by people on staff. Matter of fact I cannot rule out that Mr. Haines kicked me out of the house simply because I am of Hispanic decent. \r For SHAME MR. Haines. For SHAME.
