Don't take your dog here if they are even slightly scared of the vet's office. I have a very happy black lab mix that gets nervous at the vet, and I told this to Dr. Bailey when he came in. This caused HIM to get nervous of my dog, which set my dog even more on edge! The vet was too scared to get close unless I put a muzzle on my dog, which I did even though my dog was clearly scared to death.\r \r I had come in to get blood work done to rule out a thyroid problem, which my dog's trainer suspected he had. The vet told me twice he didn't think blood work was necessary, even when I insisted it was what I wanted to do. Finally he agreed to do the blood work and took my dog out of the room. He came back five minutes later only to tell me that he couldn't take any blood because he is 'too unruly.' What sort of vet's office doesn't prepare for nervous dogs? \r \r On top of that, I had to pay the full cost of the visit, even though all they did was take my dog's weight and have ME perform a flea
