Dr. Matz is the best dentist I have ever had. Years ago, when I was with an unnamed dental HMO-type outfit here in Portland, I had incredible dental pain, but they couldn't or wouldn't help me. My husband took me to his dentist -- Dr. Matz -- who took care of me immediately. That was over ten years ago. I have been seeing him ever since. He is very holistic in his approach, attuned to your mental as well as physical health. And he doesn't confine his understanding and treatment of physical health to just a western health approach. This is one dentist you don't need to beg not to use mercury fillings or to apply arnica to the outside of your cheek. He is very professional, going that extra mile you rarely see from doctors. If he performs a surgical procedure or anything with any kind of discomfort, he will call you later that day or the next day to check on you, and you always have his cell number. Doctors like this are exceedingly rare. GO TO HIM. You, your teeth, and your health will thank you!
