My experience with Pegasus Contracting in Westfield, NJ was probably the worst experience I have had in contracting anyone to do work for me. This guy cuts corners, and is able to do so by not obtaining permits to do work that should be going through the local building department. He convinced my wife and I we really did not need permits, and we have since had to redo much of the work he did, with permits and to code. The majority of what he did which was not to code involved a load bearing wall, and electrical, the latter of which he is not licensed to do, and thus, he did illegally. He took over eight weeks to finish a job he advised would be two weeks. He showed up late (10am or later) everyday. He left early (typically 4:00) everyday. He and his helper enjoyed a full hour lunch offsite everyday. His sheetrock job is atrocious, and he did not even finish his own work, I had to sand it. He didn't use corner bead where he should have, so the corners crumbled, and had to be corrected after the fact. He didn't properly secure the sheetrock on the ceiling. He didn't properly secure the siding he did on the outside of the house, it's actually still falling off and I need to have it repaired. He didnt properly trim out the window on the outside of the house. He did not reattach gutters he took down, even after I asked him to; he simply threw them in our garbage can outside of our home when I walked inside. Ed also only finished half of what we contracted with him to do. He never itemized the contract, and ended up getting more out of us than the work he did was worth. I find these practices, and the way EO does business very unethical and dishonest. In the end, we could have taken him to court, but no amount of money is worth me having to see this swindler again. You would be best to stay away from this guy, E Orr, and Pegasus Contracting in Westfield, NJ. Very shoddy work.
