Some feedback from a customers prospective.\r

The Defense Group firm has been horrible from the start. I hired there firm because of Hal and knowing that he would be handling the case, even though they were double the price of the other firms I looked into. Once I gave them the original money and signed a contract, it was next to impossible to hear from the attorney again. Only being stuck to dealing with Priscilla as a point of contact. She has hung up on me twice, ignored my messages, and have failed to call me back on several occasions when I had asked questions, not to mention when I would have her on the phone she is sarcastic and ignorant..\r
\r
Then, the first day I show up to court it isn’t Hal that shows up its “Peter” my new attorney… In which he has to ask in open court my name to figure out who I am out of the crowd… Wow, this is great I paid an attorney for this? I would have received better service from a public defender.\r
\r
Now when I go to court to accept the plea the attorney that shows up informs me that he isn’t even a criminal attorney and that he doesn’t even work for the Defense Group, he just has an office in the same building. He informed me that he looked briefly over my paperwork the night before for a few minutes and thinks he has everything in order.\r
\r
I then go into court and I have to talk and tell the judge why I should be able to take the plea with adjudication withheld, why you ask? Because the attorney didn’t know anything about the case and why it would be relevant for the state not to pursue this case any longer… Why did he even go? I had to do it all? Once again, I would have been better off with a public defender and paid nothing. After the court hearing the attorney left prior to the clerk giving the case paperwork to us so he did not even look at the court paperwork to make sure it was all correct… In which it wasn’t and I had to approach the recorder later that afternoon to get the judge to agree to change a line as it was incorrect.\r
\r
My case is final now, and I have been asking for 2 months what the escrow account has left in it as they did not spend anything. I have yet to hear from them.
