Businiess name:  benjy's in the village

Review content:
After going to Benjy's for years and thoroughly enjoying the experience... alas, the experience has gone steeply downhill. Where I once rated Benjy's as one of Houston's 10 Best... no more. You will enjoy your dining experience more at Pei Wei these days. The food has become pedestrian with a bit of flair... flair does NOT replace creative taste sensations! Our desert (apple tarte) was clearly an ""HEB desert"" stuck in the microwave and topped with a bit of that flair that added nothing. Wine selection has gone downhill... the bartender didn't even know what a Barbera or Malbec was, much less have one. Service staff has become borderline rude, inattentive and unknowledgable... our waitress could not remember what the specials were! We were jostled, bumped and ignored for most of the two hour visit. An hour of which was spent being ""next on the list"" for our table. It is truly sad when a place so wonderful falls so far. Oh, and all this lack was on a Wednesday night... not a holiday or weekend night. Beware of what should be a busy night! Pros: In Rice Village Cons: Noise, service, food, wine selection, price
